Our Vision

Our vision is to see Jesus' method of discipleship employed wherever we see the opportunity, believing that His model of ministry can be applied in any culture and any context.

Our Strategy

F

IND. Identify, with prayer and humility, leaders whose ministry strategies could be enhanced by partnering with FIEL International.

I

NSPIRE. Over meals and in conversations—at their table and in close friendship—walk alongside ministry leaders to discover a ministry that: 1) Mirrors the way that Jesus lived life with his twelve disciples 2) Empowers those within the ministry who have shown themselves to be faithful, available, and teachable to replicate with others what their leader has done for them.

E

QUIP. Invest in the leaders and their ministries—whether it be connecting them to others, sharing knowledge from our experience, fundraising, or providing other resources such as books—to accomplish together the vision by which we have been inspired: Jesus’ ministry principles being applied in a new environment and a new place.

L

EADERS. Who are considered leaders? Anyone who is seeking or currently executing a discipleship plan in his or her community.

FIEL is also the Spanish word for "faithful"

Pastor Arturo is the founder of CVC, an after-school discipleship-centered sports ministry in a suburb of Havana, Cuba. Arturo has been working with youth sports ministries his entire career; don't be surprised when you see a 40-something sprinting after a soccer ball with some high school kids on his tail. As a coach and disciple maker, Arturo seeks to bring kids out of unhealthy after-school temptations and into a relationship with Jesus through sports and small groups. A husband, father of 4, and small group leader himself, Pastor Arturo also runs a new-Christian class at his church.

Chas Taylor

Co-founder, FIEL International

Can the same principles of discipleship that made my time at Rice so transformative work in a soccer ministry in Cuba? This was the question that launched my friendship with Arturo Leal. Five years of partnership has demonstrated that, yes, Jesus' method can work in any context and culture. From college campuses, to Cuban sports ministries, to wherever God leads FIEL International in the future.

I recently graduated from the University of Chicago Law School, and am married to my beautiful wife, Madeline Rose.

When Chas brought me to Cuba for the first time, I immediately caught his vision: this community needs small group discipleship! I am humbled to be part of God's master plan of evangelism as we serve and partner with Arturo and his ministry, and wherever God leads us in the future.

I am currently a Training Advisor with HOPE International, a global economic development organization based in Lancaster, PA.
