A Partnership with Rice XA begins

Chas, Adam, and Maxwell added four friends to their trip in 2017. Three students and Josh Bell, the pastor of Rice University's Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship, joined them as they set out to further equip Arturo and Antonio as they solidify CVC as a soccer ministry rooted in Jesus' discipleship model. In the year between March 2016 and 2017, Arturo had formed his first small group, which is the starting point for a more discipleship-centric ministry model. Josh Bell would share from his wisdom of starting Rice University's Chi Alpha ten years before. He had started with two students, and, staying true to Jesus' discipleship model, seen the ministry grow to more than 200 students 10 years later. This trip was also the beginning of what has become an annual Rice Chi Alpha mission trip to Alamar, Cuba in order to serve alongside Arturo and the youth in CVC.
